I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Kathleen Prasad for my next book. She co-founded Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA) which is working to train others on how to incorporate Reiki healing for shelter and other animals. As a Reiki Master myself, I recognize that healing is something that everyone can do to help animals if you just know how. Check out this amazing video of Kathleen demonstrating how Reiki can help shelter animals.

If shelter animals are at their best (physically, emotionally and behaviorally) then they are more likely to show their true nature and get adopted. Like Kathleen, I have found it fascinating to provide the space for shelter animals (and my own pets) to accept Reiki energy. Often they will gravitate toward my hands and settle in to where they want to receive it (like Chester in the photo above).

SARA is creating a win-win situation for animals in shelters and I’m looking forward to working more with Kathleen and SARA. If you are involved animal healing methods, please post your story!
